Long time, my friends.

As I am sure all of you know I took quite the little trip this summer. I
felt the love and support from everyone of you and trust me when I say
that it was what was keeping me driven and focused. I wanted to make all
of you proud. All said and done I would say “mission accomplished.” I
came out as the credible nyc rocker which is exactly how you knew me going
in to this. It has been a long road we have all been traveling on
together and now it is time for me to return to where my heart and soul
lives.

I can’t wait to see all of the familiar faces and feel the warmth from the
people I love.

Thank you a million times for everything you did. The parties you hosted,
the late night voting, the blogs, the energy and the love.

Week two proved to elevate for Ryan Star as he unleashed a rockin’ version of The Rolling Stones’ “Jumping Jack Flash.” Although the airhead judges said he lacked the “Jagger Swagger” at the start of the song, Ryan still ripped the mic off the stand and flexed his own Swagger. Showing no nerves and an eagerness to embrace his fans, Ryan belted out the song. His performance was original and energetic as he was the only one to leave the stage and mingle with the crowd. We want more in Week 3!

After a worlwide talent search involving over 25,000 musicians, nationally emerging indie rocker Ryan Star was selected as a finalist to join this year’s cast of CBS’s Rockstar Supernova. The show will go out to MILLIONS of people worldwide, and the winner becomes the frontman for Supernova: a band with Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, Voivod/ ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

The exciting news comes on the heels of a sold out show with UK phenomenon Corinne Bailey Rae at Bowery Ballroom in NYC. The Rockstar appearance is Ryan’s jump to a global audience after receiving national recognition as the MySpace Featured Artist in March and critical acclaim in Billboard Magazine in May for his debut solo album “Songs From the Eye of an Elephant”.

I hope to see you at the Joe’s Pub show on Tuesday. There has been a lot of buzz over there anticipating my return after the last sold out performance. Because of all your support, Joe’s has made me a feature on their web site and their newsletter. As always it will be a different kind of show. Some special guests will include Justin and Petr from my former band Stage and Lyle from Jun among others. Overall, I am really excited about returning to one of the best venues around. Bring your friends if you can because, as you already know, I am spreading this organically (and free range with no hormones or antibiotics) and so far, it is working with your help. I am honored to be a part of something very special that allows me to give back to people less fortunate. Joining Bono, Alicia Keys, Dave Mathews, and more I am representing “Keep a Child Alive” as a new addition to their artist roster and will lead a college tour in the fall to help raise money for the AIDS crisis in Africa.

Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Sold Out Joe’s Pub show. The performance was a success on many levels, so thank you for making it huge. Having the string players there was definitely the highlight for me (with the “head like a hole” cover a close 2nd). Thanks to Rafer Guzman for writing such a great review of the show in Newsday today.

I am gearing up for a show that I have been looking forward to for a long time now. Pianos was the best show my band Stage ever played in New York and I am really excited about performing at my favorite rock club. Definitely try and make this one. It will be real and raw, I promise.
